EXIOBASE is one of the most extensive EE-MRIO systems available worldwide. Developed by the EXIOBASE consortium.
EXIOBASE contains global, detailed Environmentally Extended Multi-Regional Input-Output (EE-MRIO) Tables. It was developed by harmonizing and detailing supply-use tables for a large number of countries, estimating emissions and resource extractions by industry. The EE-MRIO tables can be used for the analysis of the environmental impacts associated with the final consumption of product groups and the environmental impacts of trade. EXIOBASE can also be used for generating global scope 1,2 and 3 emission factors (spend-based) useful for green procurement and environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting.
Total supply-chain estimates of spend-based emission factors are extractable from the EXIOBASE database.
The emission factors can be broken down into Scope 1,2,3 spend-based factors, consistent with the GHG protocol.
Prof Richard Wood was one of the lead developers of EXIOBASE whilst at NTNU, Norway. He remains an active developor of the database. Please get in contact for expert advice and services related to the use of the data.
